ENGLISH PAPER PIECING (EPP) CLUB
Second Friday of the month at 10am in the classroom
Ready to explore the world of English Paper Piecing? Or have you already caught the bug and want to learn more? Then come join our English Paper Piecing (EPP) Club. If you want to learn, Nancy Austin will help get you started and she also helps us research new patterns and design trends for today’s quilters.
From the classic Grandmother’s Garden blocks to today’s beautiful millefiori fabric patterns, English paper piecing has appealed to quilters for several generations. Perhaps because it is portable and relaxing or because of the popularity of today’s “slow quilting” movement, EPP is once again being embraced by quilters. There is no charge for the meeting.
Second Friday of the month at 12pm in the classroom
And for our wool enthusiasts, our Wool Club meets at noon on the second Fridays of the month. This is a fun group with no limit to their excitement and enjoyment of wool work! Hand stitchers of all levels are welcomed. There is no charge for the meeting.
Marcellus MODERN Quilt Club
Second Sunday of the month at 1pm
The Marcellus MODERN Quilt Club (MMQC) meets on the second Sunday of the month to explore the modern quilt movement. Its 25 members inspire each other, always encouraging to “think out of the box”, and share new ideas and resources. Guest speakers and workshop teachers teach new techniques like improv piecing, color placement and using contemporary fabrics to update
traditional blocks. Times and meeting locations change occasionally. Contact Cindy Wells at email@example.com for more information. Visitors are always welcome!
CLUB (Tuesday Embroidery Club)
Check the newsletter for dates. If you are stuck on an embroidery project, have a question, or just want to embroider with a group of friends, our TEC Club is for you! Our embroidery specialist, Michele, will be in house to lend a helping hand. $10.00 per session.
QUILTS FOR VETERANS
Third Fridays 10 – 12pm
We will have open sew days at the shop on the third Friday of the month to sew quilts for the VA Medical Center caregiver program. We’ll have some starter fabrics available but feel free to bring any patriotic fabric that you might have along with your own quilt pattern. Quilts should be approximately 42-45”W X 50-54”H. Stop in to sew and receive a 10% shop discount on all your purchases on sew days.
We will deliver your quilts to the Syracuse VA Medical Center for their In-Home Respite Caregiver Support Program.
Do you have friends that you would like to sew and socialize with? We are now renting our classroom to customers. Minimum number of participants is five and maximum is twelve. The room will be reserved for your group only.
Come to any number of nights that you like to work on your own project or one of our inspirational projects to be announced. There will be a $5 per night charge to cover food (probably pizza) and drinks.
Pick out your two holiday fabrics for this fun bag. One side could be for Halloween and the other for Easter. You can use it for trick or treating and then a fall tote/purse. Then when spring comes you can use it for the Easter egg hunt and a spring purse.
